I have been asked to clarify my position on the subject of diversity within the knitting community.

Rather than respond personally to the person who asked for this clarification, I thought it better to make a public statement and post it here on this website, under its own menu heading, for anyone and everyone to read.

This way, nothing I say can be taken out of context, and no one should be able to feel that I am having one conversation in private, and an entirely different one in public. I can assure you, that if anyone asks me for any information regarding this matter, I shall simply refer them to the Diversknitty page on my website, and will not be drawn to give any additional information, to any individuals, that is not freely available to all.

Obviously, we are all works in progress, and from time to time, I may feel the need to update this page to reflect my current state of mind. It may also be that I get asked a question, the answer to which is NOT included on sockmatician.com, and in that case, I shall add my response here, and direct the questioner to read it on the page, along with everyone else.

That all sounds rather ominous, doesn't it? Well, unfortunately, with the current climate of calling out and shaming, that seems not to be bounded by anything like, oh, I don't know, full possession of the facts, it seems that this is the best way forwards.

Head over to the Diversknitty page now, for the full story
